What communities can expect:

  • A focus on access to good‑quality, sustainable employment, with targeted support for people who face barriers to work.
  • Collaboration with Local Employability Partnerships, schools and community organisations to promote awareness of opportunities and routes into work.
  • Employer involvement in outreach, work experience and pathways that help local residents connect to jobs created through the Freeport.

How we support inclusion:

  • We encourage co‑designed provision that reflects the needs of different groups—young people, career changers, and those returning to work.
  • We promote Fair Work expectations across the Freeport so that jobs are secure, fairly paid and respectful, with scope for learning and progression.
  • We work with partners to identify practical barriers (for example, travel to training, equipment access or digital inclusion) and to align existing support where possible.

Measuring impact:

We will report simple, relevant indicators such as numbers of local residents progressing into sustained employment, participation by under‑represented groups, uptake of apprenticeships and employer adherence to Fair Work expectations. We will share case studies that illustrate how collaboration has supported people into work at different sites.

Communities are central to the regeneration story of the Forth. By aligning investment with skills and Fair Work, and by working through trusted local services, we aim to ensure that opportunities created by the Freeport are visible and accessible—and that they support long‑term prosperity across the region.
